Access to the Castles Neuschwanstein & Hohenschwangau from Füssen

By foot from the Tourist Information Center in Füssen

• to Hohenschwangau village: approx. 1 hour
• to Castle Neuschwanstein: 1,5 hours
• to Castle Hohenschwangau: 1,5 hours

By bus from Füssen to Hohenschwangau Village:
Hohenschwangau village can be reached by bus from platform 5 at Füssen Bus Station -  Bus number 73, 78 - Please check the timetable at platform 5 or the DB App for the bus departure schedule.

By car: 
P1 and P4: Parking spaces for cars and buses 
P2: Parking spaces for cars, mobile homes and motorcycles 
P3: Parking spaces for cars and motorcycles

Please note that mobile homes are only allowed to park in parking lot P2. 
There are three designated disabled parking spaces available for disabled guests in the paid P2 car park.
Parking fees:
• Car (P1, P2, P3 and P4): €12.00 for 6 hours, each additional hour €1.00 (€16.00 max.). 
• Bus (P1 + P4): € 35.00 parking fee per day.
• Motorhome (P2): €16.00 for 6 hours, each additional hour €2.00 (€20 max.).
• Motorcycle (P2 + P3): € 5.00 parking fee per day.  

Access to the Castles Neuschwanstein & Hohenschwangau from the village Hohenschwangau

You can reach Hohenschwangau Castle and Neuschwanstein Castle by foot. 

All paths are well signed.

The duration (travel time) uphill by foot from the ticket center

to the Hohenschwangau Castle is approx. 20 to 30 minutes. 

to  the Neuschwanstein Castle is approx. 40 minutes. 

Shuttle busses from Hohenschwangau Village to Neuschwanstein Castle:

from car park P4 (below Hohenschwangau Castle)

You can buy bus tickets at the bus ticket office, which is located at the bus stop or directly from the bus driver (no card payment possible). 

The following cards are not valid on the bus: KönigsCard, SchwangauCard and DB BayernTicket as well as the Deutschland-Ticket (49 Euro D-Ticket).  

The shuttle bus runs every 20 minutes however they might run due to current winter and weather conditions.
